Kelebek in the Turkje

Postby kelebektauben » Mon Feb 20, 2012 10:35 am

Last Summer i am going one week to visit Mustaphakemalpase. Most of the breeders there just take a look at the colours and they mix outer Races inside. For me to see it was painfully. The different colours of Baska are very beautiful but they must spin.

Important for me is 1. Flight, 2. Figure, 3. Colour. Flight must be the first one. This is rare culture and this is important not to destroy. When you breed with lot of pairs you bring out good flight and good figure. No i have 25 Coup in 6 Colours. They also spin diffrent. I hope i can make a good video from the spinning,

Also, you are very much right about Mustafakemalpaşa.
Especially there and some other regions focus have shifted towards the looks.
Unfortunately, this is one of the side effects of our exposure to western fancy.
Quiet a few number of fanciers have been getting effected by the show breeds and it's quick glory last 15-20 years.
They don't want to go through the lengthy process of performance fancy to make a name for themselves or they know they don't measure up to the fanciers in that side.
Any way, at the end you get sections of the country keeping worthless birds only good in a cage.
It is sad but in a country where there is abundance of performance fanciers not too bad.

Kurt, the Fotos on your Page Kelebek are from me, 15 Years ago. Last year i take first time new blood from Turkje. My friend near Bandirma breed the good spinning Birds in Colours of Saribaska and Karakuyruk. This is the old type and this is not mixed with Fancy Pigeons. In Turkje there is no good strukture of Organisation for pigeons. There are tousands of Kelebek Breeders you know. My videos you see on my Page www.kelebek-tauben.ch
A friend of mine goes every year to visit Denizli. When i can find the Adress or E Mail from Iskender Damgaci i look to take the Mavi Cakal.
Take care

I thought, that was you.
Very nice to hear from you Franco.
Are you seeing Uwe any more?
If you do, say hi from me please.

I just looked at your site.
You have really improved your stock birds over the years.
I especially like the kılkuyruk (it is marked Kuyruk in your gallery section).

You are right to go to Bandırma for good Kelebek.
I think, there are also many good fanciers in Istanbul and Izmir.
As far as İskender, it is no problem.
When you decide to go to Denizli let me know.
I'll get you in contact with him.
He is a very close friend of mine.
He doesn't keep kelebeks though.
You would probably want to stop by İrfan Bozkurt's loft for that Mavi Çakal.
Those two are very good friends also.
It would not be a problem at all.
Take care

Thank you Kurt, its true, there are also good breeders in Izmir and Istanbul. There in Izmir are good spinners horizontal (spinning in a line without loosingt heigt) in dont no if is korrect written!!! The type of Edremit in all colours. Next year i want to go to Istanbul to visit the breeders for one week. I have kontakt persons, without them you see just the Quality of the market!
I tell you when my friend metin go to Denizli. He go every year with his car. He is a Dönek breeder and a good charakter of person.
Take care

Yes, horizontal spinning.
Also called line spinning.
Pretty hard find birds like that anymore.
İzmir and Balıkasir area should have them.
Hard to say anything about İstanbul.
There are some excellent birds there but with out a good guide it's hard to find your way with in 13+ million people and two continents.
