Postby M Sheikh » Sat Sep 08, 2012 12:09 pm

Hi guys

My 3month old Takla was attack by hawk 2 days ago
I thought I've lost the bird for good.

But he came back late afternoon
I was really happy see him alive and well

Cos I've seen how he scape from that monster of sky
I saw the hawk hit him but couldn't got the grip of him.

The pigeon just fawl down from sky.

Now what I don't understand is he can fly he can walk as normal but its been 2 days now he is not eating or drinking he look very unwell he would just seat in the corner
And has drop 1 wing like a urfa

I have checked his body not a single scrach on him

But he can fly in the loft

Can someone tell me what's wrong with him
And what can I do for him

It is been a few days since your message.
How is the bird doing now?

If there are no visible signs I can think of two things:
1) The bird is hurt internaly. Maybe has a bne or something cracked.
Hopefully, it is nothing serious.
If he is still looking OK, give it some time and don't push him.
2) It is scared.
This is very normal and happens frequently.
Again, don't push him. Let him gain his confidance.
Let him in and out of the loft with the other birds but don't push him to fly.
If he has been flying sooner or later he will show you he is ready to go up again.
Very rare but every once in a while you will get a bird that is so scared it will never recover and want to fly.
I have not had success with a bird like that.
Maybe some one else who has a positive experience will share with us.

I'm really Proud of my little bird he is eating and droping well now
Hes Also flying a little as well.

I'm only letting him out with my young birds just to walk around and he fly a bit as well
I'm not pushing him to fly with my flyers.

I think he need little more time to regain his confidence again.

I hope he fly like he use to before.

I also hope that hawk get killed by something
